[Unsurprisingly, once they're free, she quietly leaves and makes her way to her room. Her gaze is far away, and she doesn't seem to be paying close attention to anything in particular, even as she makes her way back to the hallway for the rooms.
It does make her a bit easier to catch, at least.]
[Jack doesn't raise his voice to call out; the lodgings aren't so vast that he has to do that, and the fact that she's coming back here at her own pace means he doesn't have to quicken his to chase after her. As it is, he can simply fall into step.
He's not yet had a chance to freshen up, so his braid is a bit wispy and his smile slightly askew, but he does valiantly try to project an air of no-longer-at-trial. Something slightly less targeted than we-you-survived-that-trial-somehow, and slightly more relevant than so-how-about-that-tree? ... He's doing what he can, anyway.]
... I believe it would be meaningless for me to ask if you are all right, but...
I think, if you ask me... the definition of okay is a little variable right now among those trapped in this realm, and that's all right. I'll let you take your rest as needed after such a taxing day...
[Jack reaches out, seemingly an instinct as he searches her face and the drift of her attention, light fingers on her arm should it be permitted. He doesn't try any contact beyond that, but:]
But it didn't seem quite right not to say something.
Please know that you are not alone in this moment -- there were many who believed in you today. And so I hope you will come back to us when you are ready.
[He leaves the impromptu connection as is, speaking quietly to it as though he might be handing over his words one by one. Perhaps that will help.]
Is that where your doubts lie?
It is not unreasonable -- it has been but one week, and people can hardly get to know each other well enough for life and death decisions in one mere week.
All the same, those are the decisions we have made all together.
[He merely nods; these are words that will find their place later, and there's no need to place undue weight on them immediately. Instead, he retracts his hand and lets a little more solicitousness take over his expression, pale as it continues to be.]
Well, these things won't resolve themselves in a day or an hour.
I was thinking of going to the kitchens for a little while and putting something together... shall I bring you a cup of tea? It can be oddly helpful in times like these...
Certainly not. I am the type that finds it easier to move around after a long day stuck in a tree, you see...
[Just a little bit of levity, a touch of silliness; there are still far too many things lost in the foliage but he too seems to take heart from her wakening expression. He'll see her to her room before taking his leave like a good, slightly ruffled gentleman; it'll take a while yet before he reappears, because he needs to put himself back together a little, too.
It really wouldn't do to look literally like he fell out of tree, even though it was almost the equivalent of that.]
2/2 I got distracted... method RP where IRL time passed
[Some time later, though before the sad little potluck of their peers gets underway, Yor will hear a few taps at her door in an easy rhythm -- it's Jack at the other side with a piping hot cup of... or rather, an entire tea set, because one does not simply stop at a single cup of tea.
Somehow, he looks more put together and slightly more cheerful but also considerably more windswept than the last time.]

[She's out and about on Saturday, at least, although she's rather reserved. Then again, that's more or less how she spent the last week after trial too, now isn't it?
At this point, she's simply sitting on the edge of the fountain, hands folded in her lap as she stares at the ground, though she does have the sense to look up if one were to approach.]

[Though with how quiet and tired her tone is, it's hard to tell if it's believed, or if it's simply the product of exhaustion.]

Receiving kindness after a long and miserable trial.]
...If it isn't too much trouble, I would like that.
